Victory On Solar Tax Credit
On March 3, Gov. Richardson signed the Solar Market Development Act into law, creating an income tax credit for homeowners and businesses that install solar electric and solar heating systems.

State Engineer Proposes New Well Rules
The Office of the State Engineer held a formal public hearing on April 21 in Santa Fe to discuss new regulations for domestic wells to protect our water supply. The hearing was held after seven public meetings had been called around the state. NMPIRG members were active participants in these meetings.

SOLAR TAX CREDIT PASSES—NMPIRG’s Executive Director Jeanne Bassett joins Gov. Bill Richardson as he signs the Solar Tax Credit into law. The new law will help reduce energy costs and create high-quality jobs.
